I believe to be here at this time to learn about connections, balance and perfect moments.
I do this through the touch body work of Shiatsu and Sei-ki and my involvement in Climate Activism.
Seemingly a contradiction both, touch work and climate activism, have a lot do with balancing energies and moving into a harmonious way of living. For the benefit of the individual and the collective.
I came to Shiatsu through my living with depression and grief. Shiatsu helped me to get out of my head and feel my body. It brought me to an acknowledgement of being in this world.
Environmental issues have been on my mind since childhood. In 2021 I had grown enough to step out of my shell and join the biggest Climate Activism Movement in the World. It has changed my life hugely to the positive.
My work as a teacher, facilitator and therapist now evolves around facing an uncertain future with all the feelings that emerge.

My Shiatsu Path
I first heard about Shiatsu when I was a teenager. My friend had died due to skin cancer and his mother got help to deal with her grief from a Shiatsu practitioner. As my neighbour knew about my struggle with myself and growing up, she recommended Shiatsu for me and I had my first Shiatsu session the following week. I enjoyed it immensely and was looking forward to every Shiatsu session. It transformed me from a teenage girl struggling with life into a woman that is able to take on the challenges of life without being thrown too far of the path. One thing my Shiatsu practitioner said to me that stuck with me was that I would be good at giving Shiatsu. Back then I thought that this was ridiculous and I was scared of trying it. Scared of what I would find out about myself if I would undertake a Shiatsu training course. But after University and having moved to London that encouragement still rang in my head. Almost a year of settling into the busy and exciting London life, I was ready to embark on my next adventure of training to be a Shiatsu practitioner. I enrolled at the Shiatsu College London to be taught the wonderful practice of Zen Shiatsu by Jane Lyons, Annie Cryar, Catherin Burnett, Debbie Colins, Dinah Jones, and Matt Woods. I qualified as a Shiatsu Practitioner in December 2017. In my 3 year Zen Shiatsu Training I have learned a vast amount about the human body, the use of Ki, Chinese Medicine, the origins of Shiatsu, Meridians, Acupressure points and more about myself. Having received Shiatsu for so many years I find that giving Shiatsu can be even better and it is such a joy to give Shiatsu. The change in receivers that one can achieve through interaction with their Ki, mindfulness and intension is fascinating. After graduating I had the honour to be asked to assist at the Shiatsu College London. During my 3 years of assisting I also started my Shiatsu Teacher Training. Having finished the Teacher Training I am now teaching a couple of weekends a year at the Shiatsu College London, Hastings and Brighton. It is an absolute joy to teach Shiatsu. Teaching deepens my practice and knowledge immensely and it is great to see more and more people learning to love to give Shiatsu. |
My Sei-ki Path
In my second year as a student of Shiatsu I attended a Sei-ki workshop with Alice Whieldon. I was deeply moved by what she was showing us and by the work. I felt I needed to finish Shiatsu first with all its amazing theory before I could start on a journey of discovering Sei-ki in depth. After I graduated from Shiatsu college I found myself drawn back to Sei-ki and attended a few practice groups in London. When Alice Whieldon decided to offer a longer course of Sei-ki, 4 long weekends stretched over 2018 - 2019, I jumped on the occasion straight away. Sei-ki opened up the world of deep connection through touch for me. The attention and focus needed for Sei-ki touch has fine tuned my touch. My Shiatsu touch connection with my receiver has benefited hugely from my training in Sei-ki. I see Shiatsu and Sei-ki as two different modalities and therefore offer and practice them as such. I continue to attend Alice Whieldon's Sei-ki workshops to further my understanding of this beautiful Touch Art. |
